Create an Artist

Are you a performer? Make an artist profile to easily manage your live performance career

Updated over a week ago

An artist profile on Beatmatch lets performers present themselves as a public-facing identity and share upcoming gigs with fans. Artist profiles are designed for DJs, musicians, and performers who want fans to easily discover where they’re playing next.

This article explains what an artist profile is, when to create one, and how to set it up.

What Is an Artist?

An artist is a profile that represents a performer rather than an event series or group. It is used to showcase upcoming gigs and help fans follow a specific performer.

Artist profiles can be used to:

  • Share upcoming shows and performances

  • Build a following around a performer name

  • Help fans discover where you’re playing next

  • Keep gigs separate from personal or community profiles

Fans can follow an artist profile to receive updates when new gigs are added.

When Should I Create an Artist Profile?

Creating an artist profile is a good idea if:

  • You perform as a DJ, musician, or live act

  • You want to promote your shows under a stage name

  • You play at multiple venues or events

  • You want fans to follow you as a performer rather than as an individual user

If you do not perform publicly or do not plan to promote shows, you may not need an artist profile.

How to Create an Artist

To create an artist profile on Beatmatch:

  1. Open the Beatmatch app or visit beatmatch.app

  2. Go to your Profile

  3. Select Create Artist

  4. Enter your artist details:

    • Artist name

    • Username

    • Description or bio

    • Profile image or logo

    • Hashtags and genres

    • Songs

  5. Review your information and save

Once created, your artist profile will appear as a profile you can switch into when managing gigs.

Using an Artist Profile to Add Gigs

After creating an artist profile, you can use it to add gigs:

  • Switch to your artist profile

  • Create a new gig

  • Your artist profile will appear as the performer

  • Fans can view your upcoming gigs directly from your profile

This helps keep all of your performances organized in one place and makes it easier for fans to track where you’re playing.

Managing an Artist Profile

Artist profile creators can:

  • Edit the artist profile details

  • Add or remove gigs

  • Share and promote gigs

  • Grow a following of fans

Each person manages their artist profile using their own Beatmatch account, rather than sharing a single login.

Can I Change an Existing Gig to Use an Artist?

Yes. If a gig was created under the wrong profile, you can:

  • Transfer the gig to your artist profile, or

  • Add your artist profile as a co-host

This allows you to correct which profile represents the performance even after the gig has been published.

Tips for Artist Profiles

  • Use your official stage or performer name

  • Upload a clear profile image or logo

  • Write a short bio that describes your sound or style

  • Keep your gigs up to date so fans see your current schedule

  • Encourage attendees to follow your artist profile after shows

  • Use relevant hashtags and genres so people can discover your profile

  • Add your top tracks so that people learn about your original music
