Create a Gig

How to share and promote your gigs on Beatmatch.

Updated over a week ago

Beatmatch’s Gigs feature lets performers and event hosts share upcoming shows, sets, and performances right on their profile so fans can easily see where and when you’re playing next. This article explains how to create a gig, what information to include, and how sharing gigs can help you grow your audience.

What Is a Gig?

A gig on Beatmatch represents an upcoming live performance or show you’re involved in — whether it’s a DJ set, live concert, rooftop party, nightclub performance, or any other live music experience. When you add a gig to your profile, fans can browse your schedule, add shows to their plans, and stay up to date on where they can see you perform.

Gigs appear on your public profile and can be discovered by fans in Beatmatch’s search and recommendation features.

Before You Start

To create a gig you’ll need:

  • A Beatmatch account

  • A performance date and time

  • A location (venue or address)

  • A title and optional description

  • Optional promotional materials (like images or flyers)

  • Optional ticketing or RSVP links, if the show is ticketed outside Beatmatch

Unlike full events with tickets and RSVPs through Beatmatch, gigs focus on promoting upcoming performances — though you can link to tickets if they exist.

How to Create a Gig

Follow these steps to publish your next performance:

1. Open Beatmatch and Log In

Open the Beatmatch app or beatmatch.app and sign in with your profile.

2. Navigate to Your Dashboard

Access your profile’s dashboard or “Create” section where your content tools live.

3. Select “New Gig”

Look for a New Gig or Add Gig button — this will open the gig creation form.

4. Fill in Your Gig Details

Enter the key information about your performance:

  • Gig Title: Give your show a clear and engaging name

  • Date & Time: When the performance starts (and ends if applicable)

  • Location: Venue name and address

  • Description: A short summary of what fans can expect (genre, vibe, guest acts, etc.)

  • Image or Flyer: Upload an eye-catching visual — this helps your gig stand out in feeds and searches

  • Ticket or RSVP Link (optional): If you have tickets or RSVPs hosted elsewhere, include the URL

5. Review & Publish

Before you publish, review all the details. Make sure your date, time, and location are correct, and that your description and imagery reflect the style of your show.

Once published, your gig will appear on your Beatmatch profile and in searches so fans can discover it.

Promote Your Gig

After your gig is live:

  • Send SMS & email blasts: Beatmatch lets you promote your upcoming gigs to followers and past attendees with targeted SMS and email messages — helping you fill the room faster without external tools.

  • Share on social: Post the gig link on social media to reach an even wider audience.

  • Keep details up to date: If anything changes (location, time, supporting acts), update your gig so fans always have the latest info.

Tips for Successful Gigs

  • Use strong visuals: A compelling image or flyer increases engagement and click-throughs.

  • Add clear details: Include genre, supporting acts, entry policies, and what fans should bring.

  • Promote early and often: Give your followers plenty of notice so they can plan to attend.

  • Engage your community: Use the tools in Beatmatch to message followers and past attendees directly.
