Send a Text Blast

Learn how to send text messages with text, photos, or GIFs to promote your event and message your guests.

Updated today

Text blasts let you send a message directly to guests about your event. This is a fast and effective way to promote your event, share updates, and remind attendees about important details like start times or last-minute changes.

This article explains how to send a text blast from your event dashboard and what you can include in your message.

What Is a Text Blast?

A text blast is a message sent to guests associated with your event via text message (SMS). It can be used to:

  • Promote your event

  • Remind guests about the event date and time

  • Share important updates

  • Encourage last-minute ticket purchases

  • Communicate changes or announcements

Text blasts are especially useful because guests are more likely to see a text message quickly.

How to Send a Text Blast

To send a text blast for your event:

  1. Open the event you want to promote

  2. Go to the Event Dashboard

  3. Select the Text Blast button

  4. This will open the New Post view

  5. Create your message by adding:

    • A message body (the text you want to send)

    • An optional photo or GIF

  6. Review your message

  7. Send the text blast

Once sent, your message will be delivered to eligible guests tied to your event.

What You Can Include in a Text Blast

Your text blast can include:

  • A short text message

  • A photo or flyer

  • A GIF for visual emphasis

Use visuals to highlight important announcements, promotions, or event vibes.

When Should I Use a Text Blast?

Text blasts work well for:

  • Promoting your event before it happens

  • Reminding guests on the day of the event

  • Sharing lineup updates or schedule changes

  • Announcing last-minute tickets

  • Sending check-in or arrival instructions

Avoid sending too many messages so guests don’t feel spammed.

Tips for Effective Text Blasts

  • Keep messages short and clear

  • Send reminders close to event time

  • Use photos or GIFs to catch attention

  • Include important details (time, location, or updates)

  • Use a friendly, informative tone

Who Can Send Text Blasts?

Only the event host and authorized co-hosts (such as collaborators) can send text blasts from the event dashboard. Door managers typically do not have permission to send messages.
