Beatmatch allows any user to create and host events directly from their account. Events can be hosted using different profiles, giving you flexibility in how your event appears to fans and how it fits into your broader presence on Beatmatch.
This article explains who is eligible to create events and how to choose the right profile when hosting.
Who Is Eligible to Create Events?
Any Beatmatch user can create events. There is no separate organizer account or additional signup required.
If you have access to one or more profiles—such as your personal profile or a community profile—you can use any of those profiles to host an event, as long as you have permission to manage that profile.
Profiles You Can Use to Host Events
When creating an event, you’ll choose which profile the event is hosted under. This determines how the event is displayed to fans and where it appears across Beatmatch.
Personal (Main) Profile
Your personal profile represents you as an individual. Hosting an event from your personal profile is a good option if:
You’re hosting a one-off event
The event is tied directly to you rather than a brand or group
You don’t need long-term branding or a recurring event identity
Events hosted from your personal profile will appear to people who follow you and will be associated directly with your name.
Community Profile
A community profile represents a group, brand, or recurring event series (for example, a party series, collective, or organization).
Hosting events from a community profile is recommended if:
You run recurring events or a series
You want fans to follow a brand or group instead of an individual
Multiple people help manage or promote the event
You want all events grouped under a single identity
Events hosted from a community profile help you build a long-term audience, making it easier for fans to discover and follow future events from the same host.
How to Choose the Right Profile
If you manage multiple profiles, choosing the right one depends on how you want your event to be represented:
Use your personal profile for informal, one-off, or personal events
Use a community profile for branded events, collectives, or recurring series
If you plan to host events regularly, a community profile is usually the better long-term option
You can switch profiles before creating an event to ensure it’s hosted under the correct identity.
Can I Change the Hosting Profile Later?
Yes. If an event was created under the wrong profile, you can update who hosts the event in two ways:
Transfer the event to another profile, which changes the event’s owner and makes the new profile the primary host
Add another profile as a co-host, allowing that profile to help manage and represent the event
Both options let you correct which profile the event is associated with after it has already been published.
If you’re not sure which option to use or need help making this change, contact Beatmatch support and include the event name and the profiles involved. We can help you update it correctly.
Permissions and Access
You can only create and manage events for profiles you control or have been granted access to. If you’re part of a community profile, make sure you have the appropriate permissions to create or edit events on its behalf.
